How is the creative process?

After discussing your ideas for the mural I can help you to look for images than sparkle your imagination or adjust your thoughts to a more concrete image. Then I can draw some sketches to accommodate the design to your room, wall features and furniture.
I also need to check the wall to be sure it does not need extra work. If it has mold, do not try to paint over the water damaged spots on the walls. This won’t fix the problem; the mold can grow really well on the new paint. The plywood has to be changed first.
If I need to fill holes and cracks, sand, apply primer or a coat of new paint it will have an extra cost for you.
After you approve the design, we discuss the color scheme and set the date and times that work best for you.
If the mural has a special background texture or if you want the sky painted in the ceiling or in the wall I do that first.
Then I start transferring the drawing to the wall. If the wall color you have is dark, I will need to paint lighter characters on top of it, so I will need to apply some primer to those specific places. For that reason I always need to have access to the original paint.
Before I start using color in the wall I like to review the design with you, if you have comments or changes, it is better to do them when it is just a pencil drawing.
I always use the higher quality latex non toxic paints for backgrounds and also the best acrylic paints for my paintings, they not only guarantee my work, but they also allow me to get an incredible amount of shades and vibrancy in the final work.
