How to use a colored glaze when painting a child’s mural

Fun_murals_glazeGlaze is a clear medium that we can add to the paint to make it translucent and to slow the drying time.

In order to paint in a wall with latex, we need to use a water based glaze. Even though it is milky white, it will not change the color of the paint when it dries.

To prepare a colored glaze you must use a clean container and mix your paint with the glaze. The amounts depend on the effect you want to achieve.

The more glaze you add, the more translucent the paint will be, and the more time it will take to dry. The more paint you add, the more solid the color will be, and the faster it will take to dry.

You can use color glaze to paint different shades of a color one on top of the other, for example to paint flowers. You can also use the color glaze to give the idea of transparency.

Color glaze is a must when you are working in a faux painting technique as sponge painting and color washing.
